About the role

Disability Case Manager - Kinesiologist, Massage Therapist, OTA, PTA or related profession

Job Level: Entry Level - New Grads encouraged to apply

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 9 am to 5 pm

Target Start Date: May 25, 2026 (flexible)

Location: This is a remote position based in Nova Scotia and will require travel to client sites in the region of Truro to Antigonish.

We're looking for a Disability Case Manager who will be responsible for managing a case load of disability claims for a large unionized organization. You will also be working with employers, union representatives, and physicians to obtain and review medical.  This will assist with potential next steps required to assist with facilitating treatment as required and return to work solutions. The Case Manager develops relationships with involved parties and provides expert advice to customers daily. This position is based out of your home office and includes travel within the Truro to Antigonish region to provide face to face case management with clients.

   

In this role, you will:

  • Case manage disability claims
  • Plan and implement sound case management strategies with a focus on treatment and recovery and a goal to potential return to work
  • Review accommodation requests and implement return to work plans
  • Review accommodation requests for stay at work efforts
  • Responsible for communication claim decisions both verbally and in written correspondence to all stakeholders involved

 

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in a health-related field as a Kinesiologist, Occupational Therapist, Massage Therapist or related considered an asset 
  • Experience working with a carrier or other third-party provider actively adjudicating disability claims
  • Experience with non-occupational disability claims
  • Experience adjudicating mental health and physical disability claims
  • NIDMAR or other related professional designations would be an asset
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with and an analytical thinker
  • Demonstrated excellence in the decision-making process especially when under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Home office space is required
  • Must have access to a vehicle and valid driver’s licence
