Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is a standalone role responsible for managing the full scope of HR and recruitment functions, while also providing support to accounts payable operations and general administrative tasks. This position plays a key role in overseeing the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and coordinating hiring processes.
Working independently, the HR Generalist maintains accurate records, supports employees and management, and contributes to efficient day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR contact, supporting employee relations, performance management, and policy updates
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding (ADP setup) and offboarding (ROE processing)
- Maintain and update HR policies and employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Resolve employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and reporting requirements
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer preparation
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment and onboarding process
Accounts Payable & Administrative Support
- Assist with accounts payable tasks including invoice coding, payment preparation, and vendor coordination
- Perform general administrative duties to support daily business operations
- Support internal projects and process improvements
Operations & Collaboration
- Track and report HR metrics to support decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and employee relations best practices
- Experience with recruitment processes, onboarding, and offboarding procedures
- Understanding of accounts payable processes and vendor coordination
- High attention to detail in compliance, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP) and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is considered an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role

Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset

Experience with accounts payable is considered an asset

Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP)

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a second language (Russian or Hebrew) is considered a strong asset
